LEADERSHIP IN
THE TRENCHES
Proven Success Strategies for Middle-Managers to Thrive in a System They Didn't Create
Karen Hauschild
About the book
Middle management is tough. Often the leaders above us do not think about our development or the development of those we lead. Instead, they focus on the bottom line and outcomes, and as a result the customer service and decisions they make are often at the expense of their own employees. Regardless of whether or not resources are available, the culture exudes ‘do more with less.’
What is a middle manager to do? Rather than throw your arms up in despair, influence what you can!
Good leadership starts with being a good leader to yourself, and often that is the hardest place to start. Karen Hauschild has spent most of her professional life working in the trenches, so she has first-hand knowledge and experience navigating this all too familiar tug of war middle management deals with. In this must-read book, Hauschild shares the wisdom of her experience and offers real-world, actionable strategies for budding, new, or current middle managers.
Ultimately, no matter what shape your team is currently in, you have the authority to do something about it. Leadership in the Trenches will give you the hope and confidence you need to grow as a leader, with specific strategies you can immediately employ.
